The Mahatma as your avatar
This happened a couple of months ago, but worth blogging about. NY based artist Joseph DeLappe does an interesting experiment: the reenactment of the Salt Satyagraha at Second Life
DeLappe actually 'walked' throughout second life online using a customized treadmill in NYC for 26 days, meeting people and asking them to join him. His journey is documented on his Satyagraha blog.
Following the Satyagraha, DeLappe decided to make a 17' tall cardboard avatar of Gandhi. He chose the height because Michelangelo's David, the boy in the bible who struck down Goliath, is of the same height.
If you'd like to create your own Gandhi avatar, in cardboard, here are the instructions from the man himself. The Mahatma continues to inspire in more and more creative ways :)
